Our Values

Our values are who we are, not just what we do, they are part of our DNA. They communicate who God has called us to be and direct where we are going.

WE ARE:

All about Jesus

Everything we do is because of what Jesus has already done. Jesus is first in our hearts and central in all we do. Our goal is not to get people to church, we want people to meet Jesus, follow Jesus, become live Jesus and live like Jesus.

Matthew 22:37-38, Colossians 2:6-7

Better Together

There is no such thing as “Do It Yourself” Christianity. God created us for relationships, not rules. We believe church is not a place you go to, but a family you belong to. Being connected to spiritual family is God’s greatest desire and Satan’s greatest threat. This doesn’t happen by coming together for a few hours a week—it’s what happens when we choose do life together.

Hebrews 10:24-25, Psalm 68:6, Ephesians 2:19-21, Psalm 92:13

Committed to the Commission

We are all called to display the love of Jesus and share the good news, starting with our neighbors and moving to the rest of the world. Discipleship is not a class or a program — it is a heart to reach the lost and help them take their next steps in their spiritual journey with Jesus. We see this as a privilege and responsibility.

Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 14:23

Dependent on the Holy Spirit

We believe that life on earth is to be lived in the presence and with the power of the Holy Spirit, who indwells believers, enabling them to live distinctive lives in the life and power of Christ. If Jesus, the apostles, and the first church depended on the power of the Spirit, we believe we should too.

Acts 1:8, John 16:7, 2 Corinthians 3:18

Passionate About
Next Gen

We believe our children, student and young adults are not the church of tomorrow but the church of today. We’re committed to raising up sons and daughters to be servant leaders in their schools, homes, and the communities.

2 Timothy 2:2, Joel 2:28, 1 John 2:14, 1 Timothy 4:12

Blessed To Be A Blessing

We see generosity as a privilege. Having freely received, we freely give. We’re generous with our time, talents, and treasure because we truly believe it is more blessed to give than to receive. We’re never more like Jesus than when we’re generous.

2 Corinthians 9:11, Matthew 20:28, 1 Peter 4:10

Our Beliefs

The foundation of our beliefs at Our Savior’s Church are based upon the Holy Scriptures. We believe that the scriptures were written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and are without error, and are therefore the basis of truth.

Holy Bible

The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant.

2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Proverbs 30:5, Romans 16:25-26

Trinity

We believe in one God who has revealed Himself in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal.

I John 5:7, Genesis 1:26, Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19, Luke 1:35, Isaiah 9:6, Hebrews 3:7-11

Jesus Christ

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of humanity, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood and rose again the third day. We believe Jesus ascended to Heaven and will come to Earth again for the Church in power and glory.

John 1:1,14; 20:28, Matthew 1:18, 25, Luke 1:35, Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18, 23-25, Luke 1:27-35, I Timothy 3:16, Isaiah 9:6, Philippians 2:5-6, I Timothy 2:5

Salvation

We believe we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ—through His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts. We believe in eternal life in Heaven for believers and eternal damnation in Hell for unbelievers.

Ephesians 2:8-9, Galatians 2:16, 3:8, Titus 3:5, Romans 10:9-10, Acts 16:31, Hebrews 9:22

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and that His presence in the life of a Christian enables them to live a Godly life. We also believe that the Holy Spirit provides spiritual gifts to all believers, manifesting them as He desires and that all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are available to Christians today.

Joel 2:28-29, Matthew 3:11, Mark 16:17, Acts 1:5,2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6, Hebrews 2:4, Romans 1:11,12:4-8, Ephesians 4:16, II Timothy 1:5-16, 4:14, I Corinthians 12:1-31; 14:1-40, I Peter 4:10

The Church

We believe there is one universal Church, which is the Body of Christ. We believe Christ is the head of the Church and every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the Church as a member of the body of believers. The Church is God’s instrument for revealing His purpose and the fullness of Jesus on earth for His glory.

Ephesians 1:22-23, 4:10-12; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23; Romans 12:5, 8:14-17; 1 Peter 2:4

Water Baptism

We believe water baptism by immersion is an obedient response to the command of Jesus for those who have been born again.

Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:34 -38; 10:44-48; 19:1-6

Marriage & Family

We believe marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime.  We believe in and endorse abstinence from sexual activity for Christian single men and women; and that Christian marriage is sacred.

Genesis 1:27-28; Genesis 2:20-25; Genesis 1:27; Ephesians 5:24-25; Titus 2:4-5; Psalm 139:13-15

The Resurrection & Second Coming

Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. In addition, both the saved and the lost will be resurrected; they that are saved to the resurrection of life, and they that are lost to the resurrection of eternal damnation. Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures.
